Mortgage Resolution Specialist

As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a Mortgage Resolution Specialist who will bring a reliable, detail-oriented approach and a strong team spirit to our growing business.
Position Overview:
The Mortgage Resolution Specialist is responsible for managing and enforcing mortgage defaults. This role involves working closely with legal teams, borrowers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with mortgage agreements and to recover outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage mortgage accounts in default, including the initiation and oversight of the Power of Sale processes.
- Collaborate with our lawyer to prepare legal documents (e.g., demand letter, Notice of Sale, Statement of claim, Default Judgments, etc.).
- Stay current on Canadian enforcement actions to ensure compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with the Property Manager for occupancy inspections and property securement.
- Oversee property maintenance, listing, and final sale of Power of Sale properties in collaboration with the Property Manager.
- Prepare Discharge Statements or Statements of Arrears as needed.
- Communicate with borrowers to negotiate repayment plans for missed mortgage, property tax, and condominium fee payments.
- Maintain detailed records of enforcement actions and prepare regular reports for management, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
- Complete assigned duties accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner, with attention to detail in data entry and numerical values.
- Work independently and within a team to meet service levels.
- Be flexible and supportive in taking on additional tasks as requested by Management.
- Provide timely responses to team members’ requests seeking updates.
- Uphold the highest standards of business conduct and ethics.
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or University Degree in finance, business administration, law clerk or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Mortgage enforcement, collections, legal and or a related field
- Demonstrated strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal documentation and processes related to mortgage enforcement.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Professional, friendly demeanor with a strong ability to build productive relationships.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel applications, Outlook, and ability to learn new software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong understanding of the Enforcement process.
- Satisfactory criminal records check will be required from the selected candidate as a condition of employment.
